SINCE 1975 · SUMMIT COUNTY'S QUIETER CENTER

Frisco calls itself the Main Street of the Rockies. We believe it.

Region · Summit County
State · Colorado
Since · 1975
Frisco sits dead center in Summit County, ten miles north of Breckenridge on the shore of Lake Dillon, and it has a lower-key, more year-round-resident feel than its more famous neighbor.

The historic downtown mixes 1880s mining-storefronts with newer lakefront development, and Summit Daily News runs its whole operation out of a building on Main Street here, which tells you Frisco sees itself as the county's actual civic center, tourist brochures aside.

The neighborhoods split old and new the way a lot of Summit County does Bill's Ranch is a Gold Rush-era enclave with real history, while newer lakefront development like Wooden Canoe at Water Dance trades on unobstructed Tenmile Range views and a price tag to match. Frisco Heights lots run up to two and a half acres, which is more room than you'd expect this close to a lake town's Main Street.

Why Frisco's lakefront changes the furniture math.

Homes with real Lake Dillon frontage tend toward big windows and open sightlines to the water, which means furniture has to hold its own against that view instead of competing with it. Oversized or overly ornate pieces just look busy against a backdrop like that. Older Bill's Ranch cottages run the opposite problem, with tighter, more traditional room layouts from an earlier building era. Frisco's elevation and lake-effect humidity swings are also harder on certain fabrics than people expect from a mountain town. We spec for that rather than finding out after the fact.

Frisco in numbers.

Colorado BBQ Challenge Frisco Main Street
Details →

The Colorado BBQ Challenge takes over Main Street with smoke and brisket smell drifting all the way to the lake, and it's the kind of event that makes Frisco feel more like a small town having a party than a resort destination performing one. If your Lake Dillon place still needs furniture that can hold up against that view, let's talk. (818) 264-6340.
